I'm still trying to sort through my thoughts about the wonderful celebration that helped close out the Beach Comber, and more importantly, continued a tradition of remembering Billy Coughlin. I've been lucky to know the Coughlins for as far back as I can remember. With our parents being long time friends, I was fortunate to spend many vacations with Mike, Pat and Billy. The two weeks in August that were spent in NH every year with the Coughlins, MacLeods, Sheehans, and Yorks, forged a lifelong bond, that while we may not be blood, we certainly felt like family. I was so grateful and honored when they approached with the idea of having Billy's night go to My Hero Fund. I just hope that we had a proper party that Billy would be proud of. Thank you so much Bill, Jean, Mike, Kristy, Pat, Mary, Eileen, and Jake for everything that youd did that made last night such a success. Thank you to the bands for providing great music and entertainment. Thank you to the folks that donated our silent auction and raffle items. And thank you to the folks that entered the raffles and bid on the auction items!
I want to thank all the folks who made it out last night. It was great seeing so many people that I have been fortunate to know through my life, and it served as a good reminder to me just how lucky I am to have so many people who care about me and my family. Just know that I plan on fighting until there is a cure, and I am so lucky to have all of you right there with me. FALS!
